Dad passed, peacefully in his sleep, on the evening of June 6, 2012.  My sister and I will miss our weekly visits with him, but know he is at rest and at peace.  He had asked repeatedly that we not do anything elaborate after his passing, and in lieu of flowers or cards, we ask that you please join us in launching the Franc White Legacy Fund for Conservation Education, by contributing c/o N.C. My sister and I wish to now dedicate this website to his memory and his lifelong accomplishments.   He has received innumerable accolades and awards for his literary talents, conservation efforts and television commentaries.   His weekly television program spanned over two decades and brought the southeastern states into living rooms so everyone, young and old alike, could enjoy the great outdoors.   We hope you enjoy this website which is dedicated to him and his many, many years of sharing his enjoyment of the outdoors with others.

Dad was born in Goodwater, Alabama, yes, "good water," and he soon learned that he was destined for a life consumed with the outdoors and conservation efforts.     Graduating from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity, he enjoyed a life of writing, hunting, fishing, and speaking his mind on ecological issues that should, then and now, be of great interest to everyone.    

In the following pages are books, videos, articles and programs that span history for over two decades from the 1970s to the 1990s.   The places and people have obviously changed over the last   three decades.   We sincerely do not mean any disrespect to anyone or any family of the persons involved with the programs.     The persons named may not be available, may not be alive, and numbers given are probably no longer working numbers.   Do not rely on the information given.   All of these books, videos, and programs are being provided for nostalgic reasons and are meant solely for the purpose of sharing these great accomplishments with everyone so that the history involved can be shared, admired and most importantly, enjoyed once again.  All proceeds from any sales will be contributed to the Franc White Legacy Fund for Conservation Education.

All of the books, videos, articles and programs together with the pictures in the Photo Gallery are copyright and trademark protected.  Copies of the pictures are available and if you are interested, please email us.   As we discover more pictures, we will be making them available on the Gallery, so please check back from time to time to see the additions.  As we are able to retrieve and produce more of the television programs, we will be adding them on the site.   We will also offer, from time to time, some of his memorabelia and again, all proceeds will be contributed to his Legacy Fund.

We will constantly strive to offer more and more information as it becomes available.   All  Cookbooks and videos sold are for the enrichment of our father's memory and his vast accomplishments.
